Public Screens

Public Screens
In partnership with grunt gallery, Simon Fraser University (SFU), Cinevolution, The City of Richmond, and Lipont Gallery
November 8 — 30

Locations:

Screens are an integral part of our daily lives, constantly within reach. Yet rarely do we pause to consider what they might offer beyond the everyday. This year’s Public Screens program invites you to engage with these familiar surfaces from a different perspective. Each film, though under 5 minutes, encourages us to step out of our routines and reflect on the pieces of ourselves we don’t often take time to celebrate—the moments that shape us, stay with us, and shift as we move through the world.

Films will be running daily across public screens in so-called Vancouver’s city centre and the lower mainland from November 8 - 30:

  • At MPCAS, catch them looping on weekends all day (November 8, 9; November 16, 17; November 23, 24, and 30), and on weekdays as part of the evening run from 7 pm to 10 pm.

  • At the lobby of SFU Goldcorps Centre for the Arts, the films are available during public hours of operation from Nov 8 - 16, typically between 9 am and 6 pm.

  • More soon on time and dates for our other locations!

If you can’t catch these films in person, you can still experience them from November 14 - 24 via our Digital Library by purchasing a Digital Pass.

Snap a pic or video of the screen and tag @formvancouver — we'd love to see how you experience these moments of movement!
